However, lightweight nodes can participate in mining by leasing out their WAVES tokens in a pool to join in the validation and earn mining rewards. Leasing costs 0.002 WAVES. This helps achieve better decentralization, maintain network integrity, and uphold the token's value.
• Two-Tier Blockchain: Waves network has a framework that doesn't' require lightweight nodes to download the blockchain; instead, full nodes download the blockchain and validate transactions. This helps to keep the network scalable.
• Miner Reward Tokens (MRTs): Full nodes earn 60 MRTs after validating 70 blocks on the Waves network and 30 MRT for every additional block mined after the 70th. MRTs can be traded on Waves DEX.
• Waves DEX: Waves DEX uniquely allows users to trade fiat for crypto, solving a fundamental issue with trading on DEXs.
